INREACH Annual Parish Picnic Each September, St. Luke's gathers for its annual parish picnic. Many gather in Greenwood Park following the 10 a.m. service to enjoy the beautiful fall weather, some good food and company. Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner For many years, St. Luke's had held its annual Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner as the unofficial start to Lent. Members, family and friends enjoy fun and fellowship while dining on unlimited pancakes and sausage. Fantasy Football In 2007, St. Luke's began a fantasy football league for fun and fellowship. Up to 12 dedicated NFL sports fans enjoy a Sunday evening fantasy draft day in August before the season begins. The group enjoys competing against each other throughout the NFL season vying for the 'St. Luke's Champion's Cup' and bragging rights throughout the summer. Movie Night On the fourth Friday of each month, St. Luke's members, family and friends gather for Friday Night at the Movies. With a generous donation of a full screen projector and popcorn machine, St. Luke's enjoys monthly full screen viewings of popular movies on the big wall in Orvis Hall. Friday Night at the Movies begins at 5:30 p.m. with a Potluck supper and the movie and popcorn begin at 6:30 p.m. Discussion of the Christian points and influences follows each movie. Members, families and friends have enjoyed evenings at the Stars/Chops Hockey, Barnstormers Arena Football and Iowa Cubs Baseball games.
