spring 2019 SCHEDULE

April 28--Movie Night (Potluck at 4 pm, Movie at 5 pm)

Miracles from Heaven (Rated PG)  Based on the incredible true story of the Beam family. When Christy (Jennifer Garner) discovers her 10-year-old daughter Anna (Kylie Rogers) has a rare, incurable disease, she becomes a ferocious advocate for her daughter's healing as she searches for a solution.

May 4--May the 4th be with You!, 9 am - 4 pm

That's right, we are celebrating Star Wars day with a marathon of the movies. (As many as we can fit in) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Orvis Hall. We are combining with craft day so bring your crafts and polish up your facts because there will be trivia. ECW will be providiing popcorn and pizzas for lunch. Se you there!

May 11--Drake Univ Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia & St. Luke's Swing Dance Festival, 7 pm - 9:30 pm

The Drake University music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is partnering with St. Luke's to present a swing dance fetival on Friady, May 11, from 7:00 - 9:30 pm. It is a benefit dance to support the arts at King Elementary right here in our neighborhood. The fraternity will provide live music for the dance! Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 per person.

May 12--ECW Monthly Meeting

The ECW meets upstairs in Orvis hall the second Sunday of each month between the morning services (approximately at 9 am). This will be the final meeting of the ECW for the 2018-19 season. We will elect officrs. All women of the church are welcome.

May 18--Spring Clean--up (on a Saturday?--YES!)

This year we are going to try something new. Due to scheduling conflicts, we have scheduled the clean-up day for Saturday, May 18th to begin at 10 am. We are hopeful that those interested in helping with the clean-up will be available on Saturday instead of Sunday this year. A sign-up sheet has been posted in the Guild Room to get a head count of helpers AND to make sure we have plenty of food to feed everyone. Yes, the grill will be out and working!

May 19--Vestry Meeting 6 pm

Reminder, we are meeting at the InnerVision Clinic (1355 50th St., Suite #400 in West Des Moines)

May 26--Movie Night (Potluck at 4 pm-Movie at 5 pm):   Wonder      (Rated PG)

Based on the New York Times bestseller, this movie tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters the fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.

June 3--Prepare & Serve Homeless Shelter Meal

Volunteers are needed to help cook and serve the shelter meal. Donations are needed either by signing up to bring or pay for meal ingredients. Contact Mark Johnson (277-3052) for more info.

June 10--Lenten Study "Reunion", 6-7 pm

This is a follow up for those who participated in the Life Together Lenten Study and will meet in Guild Room.

June 16--Vestry Meeting 6:00 pm (Finance Meets at 5:30 pm)

June 23--Movie Night (Potluck at 4 pm, Movie at 4:30 pm)  LION (Rated PG-13)

A five-year-old Indian boy gets lost on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home. He survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia. 25 years later, he sets out to find his lost family.
